When LH Quality Staffing Solutions Inc. opened its doors two years ago, the founders wanted to make a difference in Rochester.

"We saw some good opportunity. We also thought about trying to keep business in Rochester, to help people in Rochester find jobs," says Ted Adams, senior vice president.

Adams and three other Rochesterians started LH Quality in 2004. Now the Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise has nine employees and does work in four states. It recently moved to bigger offices.

LH Quality specializes in helping companies fill open positions and in helping people find jobs that fit their skill sets. "Our placement is about 75 to 80 percent. We're working with a lot of Fortune 500 companies," Adams says.

LH Quality has been working with RochesterWorks! since December and uses its on-site recruitments and the job referral process. So far there have been some strong leads on several jobs through the partnership, Adams says.

LH Quality focuses on getting clients hired in two departments: light industrial and technical, which includes engineering, telecommunications and information technology.

"Business Services Representatives work one-on-one with LH Quality in order to identify good candidates that matched their needs.   Jobs are posted through www.ajb.org , http://www.ajb.org/ but are also distributed to other websites such as www.rochesterworks.org and www.real-rochester.com , http://www.real-rochester.com.   Employment counselors are better able to screen against the employers minimum requirements.    "Match and referral" letters are also sent to jobs seekers who are registered with the RochesterWorks system and fit the criteria of the job description," says Theodore Jordan, Business Services Representative at RochesterWorks!

The advantage in posting job orders through RochesterWorks! is that the those orders get more exposure and another level of management, says Erin VanDamme, Business Services Representative.

Like with other companies, VanDamme and Jordan work one on one with LH Quality helping it with business planning and outreach.

Adams says working with RochesterWorks! has been a good partnership. "I wish more people knew about RochesterWorks!"
