In its 25 years, The Employment Store Inc. has never seen such growth and expansion.
The Rochester-based recruiting firm points to its partnership with RochesterWorks! as one of the keys to its success.
"They take the time to look at what we're looking for and that allows us to be that much more successful with our clients," says Danielle Powers, recruiter with The Employment Store.
In the past six months Powers estimates her company has placed 20 hires that it can attribute to connections made through its RochesterWorks! partnership.
The Employment Store has helped more than 1,000 companies in its history recruit, screen and retain talent from Fortune 100 firms to local medical offices. Since mid-2001 the company, which has 11 employees, has more than doubled in size, exceeding a 30 percent annual growth rate. Last year it opened a Syracuse office and plans to open a Buffalo office in January.
The Employment Store specializes in connecting applicants to banking, finance, medical, legal and general administrative job opportunities. It also makes placements in other areas including food service, transport assistants, shipping and receiving.
Powers typically supplies RochesterWorks! with a list of openings and RochesterWorks! posts them, manages them and tracks applicants.
RochesterWorks! does a lot of pre-screening, having the candidates' names ready for recruiterss when they come in.
"It's a huge time saver for us," Powers says.
At The Employment Store's first on-site recruitment event held at RochesterWorks! North Goodman Street location in August, Powers estimated 40 or 50 people were interviewed.
"It was a great success," Powers says. Another event will be held later this month.
In addition to job postings, screenings and on-site interviews, The Employment Store utilizes RochesterWorks! recruiters, job developers and promotions.
"We also were a part of the Digital Afternoons program which enabled us to work with youth who were interning at a number of great businesses throughout the area," Powers says.
RochesterWorks! and The Employment Store have been working together for two years and RochesterWorks! describes the relationship as a "strong partnership".
