For over twelve years local machine designer and builder Micro Instrument Corp has been better positioning itself for the future through a successful working relationship with RochesterWorks!
"RochesterWorks! has helped Micro keep its workforce employees trained in the latest technologies and has used its employment service to help us hire several employees," says Mark Seelman, Assistant Controller of Micro Instrument Corp. The Rochester-based company of nearly 100 employees has been in business for over 60 years.
Opportunities through RochesterWorks! have helped Micro Instrument Corp to be more competitive and attract more business, Seelman says. The company makes machines "that build the products of the world" including automated machines, gages and tooling systems, he says. Key markets include the medical device industry, defense, film, copiers, automotive parts, and electronic components in the U.S. and across the world.
RochesterWorks! has assisted the company in securing funding for many of its programs including the New York State 37-L grant, Great Rate, Great Rebate, Hiring Incentive, Wired Scholarship and the On The Job training program .
"Micro has really benefitted from the training grants and keeping their skills current and on the cutting edge," says Claudia Gately, Business Services Manager at RochesterWorks!
Seelman says he is able to conveniently keep up with RochesterWorks! latest news on programs and services at its website. "They offer the complete package and Micro and its employees have benefitted from this partnership."
