Job Title

Accounting Assistant (Part-Time)

Salary

Part time - $20.00-$22.00/hour

Role Description

Provide accounts payable support to the Accounting Department.  This is a part time position for approximately 20-25 hours per week.

Major Responsibilities

  • Review and data entry of accounts payable invoices using appropriate cost allocations;
  • Process weekly check runs;
  • Update cash disbursement spreadsheets;
  • Track and file receipts and reports;
  • Process vouchers, ensuring completeness and accuracy; follow up on required documentation;
  • Communicate with colleagues and external partners;
  • Payroll record keeping, including updating paid-time-off and holiday records;
  • Other administrative tasks as needed within the finance and human resources departments.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Associate’s degree with two years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • A/P experience;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel;
  • QuickBooks Online experience is preferred;
  • Non-profit experience is preferred;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is required, as well as a track record of reliability and conscientious work habits;
  • Willingness to take initiative and accept responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Acts in a manner which supports and embraces RochesterWorks’ vision to integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility into the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. This position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. This position may include lifting up to 10 pounds for files and computer printouts on occasion.
